Loan Cancellation Evidence

Select which circumstance applies so you can return the correct information:

Disability

If you can prove that you’re permanently unfit for work due to a disability, your student loan can be cancelled. You’ll need to send copies of two items as evidence:

  1. A letter from a Doctor or Consultant stating that you’re 'Permanently unfit for work' dated within the last 6 months; and
  2. Evidence of disability related benefits. This can be either a:
    • letter from the Benefits Agency (last letter of assessment); or
    • bank statement showing these benefit payments (dated within the last 6 months).

The following benefits mean you may be eligible for student loan cancellation:

  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Industrial Injuries Benefit
  • Severe Disablement Allowance

Evidence along with your Customer Reference Number should be sent to:
