Allowing another person to access your account

We are required to adhere to the applicable data protection legislation in the UK, which prevents us from discussing your account with any other person. However, you may find it useful to have another person who can call us on your behalf to access certain information and this may be particularly useful if you are going overseas for a period of time.

You can give us authorisation to discuss your account details with another person in one of two ways.

Consent to Share

Consent to Share (CtS) is written or verbal authorisation which allows us to provide your account information –  with the exception of your bank details – to a person you have nominated.

To allow us consent to share your account information with someone, please write to us giving:

  • Your Customer Reference Number (formerly known as ART ID) or Loan Account Number
  • Their full name
  • Their full address (including post code)
  • Their date of birth
  • Their relationship to you
  • A password, which you should choose and give to them

You should also state the specific time period that this arrangement will be valid for.

The person must be able to confirm all of these details before we can discuss any of your account information with them.

Our address is:

Student Loans Company Limited
100 Bothwell Street
G2 7JD

Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney (PoA) is an official document where you can grant attorney to a third party to release or update information relating to your account. A PoA must contain the specific period for which they can act as an attorney and the specific tasks that they can perform. As above, the person holding PoA must satisfy authentication process.
