We offer a number of payment methods if you wish to make additional payments to your account, or if you need a method to make your scheduled repayments.
Debit or credit card
You can make card payments using Switch, Solo, Delta, Visa, Visa Electron and Mastercard.
There will be approximately a 1.5% surcharge added to payments made by credit card.
Debit cards will not have this surcharge applied.
If someone wants to make a payment towards your loan they can use our Make a Payment service without the need to login to your account.
Cheque or postal order
These should be made payable to Student Loans Company Limited.
Please write your Customer Reference Number (formerly known as ART ID), Loan Account Number or Student Support Number on the back of your cheque or postal order and send it to:

Direct Debit
To set up a Direct Debit, please telephone a customer advisor on 0845 0738 891, Mon - Fri 08:00 - 17:30
Standing Order
You can download and complete the standing order form below and forward it to your bank. You must include one of the following references so we can apply the payment to your account:
- Customer Reference Number (formerly known as ART ID) or Loan Account Number, if the payment is towards a Fixed Term Loan
- GR Number, if the payment is towards a grant overpayment
- Tuition Fee Loan Account Number, if the payment is towards a Tuition Fee Loan

Payment by International Bank Transfer (IBAN)
We can accept bank transfer payments from abroad. You must include either your Customer Reference Number (formerly known as ART ID) or Loan Account Number as a reference so we can apply the payment to your account.
You will need to contact your bank to arrange this type of payment and they may charge you for the service.
