The RTL Scheme allows the government to repay, over time, the student loans of qualified teachers of specified shortage subjects in both schools and further education (FE) in England and Wales. The scheme operated as a pilot for teachers beginning in the academic years 2002/03, 2003/04 and 2004/05. The scheme was discontinued after academic year 2004/05.
If you are currently on the RTL scheme, it is important that you tell us of any changes in your employment details. This information is required to enable Student Loans Company to calculate your RTL write off amount for the previous year.
If you have not already informed Student Loans Company of any changes to school or college details or to employment types you must contact us to request a Change of Circumstances form which we will send directly to you for completion. This form should be returned to us within one calendar month.
